Those gloomy winter evenings, riding the bus home from school, watching the neighbourhood pass by through the window. I used to complain about wasting my time at school, never knowing i’d one day miss those ordinary moments. If only we knew how precious they were while we were living them.

It’s funny how the things that scare us can also be the things we’re most drawn to. The depth of the ocean, the crashing waves, the darkness beneath the surface… maybe they aren’t there to keep us away, but to remind us that the most beautiful things often live beyond our comfort zone. Maybe the things that intimidate us the most are the very things our hearts are longing for. And maybe, somewhere beneath all that uncertainty, lie the dreams we’ve been too afraid to chase So, when the ocean calls, jump anyway!

Somewhere between two cities, between leaving and arriving, i found a new beginning. Back and Forth comes from a simple moment on a navette between two cities. The view through the window became familiar, the same roads, the same horizon, always somewhere between leaving and arriving. But during those journeys, something had changed. I was starting a new chapter, in a new place, after finally choosing a path that felt like my own. This painting is about that feeling of moving forward while still looking back. About starting over, finding your place, and the quiet pride that comes with knowing you had the courage to change direction. Maybe we all have a little Back and Forth of our own.
